Funeral & Memorial Services
Funerals are among the most important events in a family’s history. Decisions made at a time of grief and loss have the ability to bring everyone closer for all time, as well as to assuage each one’s individual grief. We seek to create a service that is intimate and personal, tender, informal and uplifting.
The overall purpose of a carefully planned funeral or memorial service is three-fold:
Family and friends are all gathered in the same place at the same time in a caring and comforting setting.
 Dear Journeys of the Heart,I want to thank you for putting together a memorial service for my husband that was beautiful, compassionate and focused on his life, his family, his friends and neighbors. Your officiant worked worked with us to get it just right. Losing my husband is hard and my grief is beyond words. Dear Marguerite, From the minute our family contacted Journeys of the Heart and spoke with you and our officiant, we knew that we would be able to have my grandmother's funeral (after a prolonged illness) in such a way that would be exactly what we wanted to celebrate her life and our love for her. It turned out to be the most beautiful memorial service we could have imagined and each member of our family was able to participate fully. The meetinghouse you told us about (The Little Meetinghouse at the Abington Art Center) was perfect and our officiant herself was so warm and caring - she continues to ask after my elderly grandfather. Not being affiliated with a church, we would have been truly lost without your services. My family and I are very grateful that Journeys of the Heart exists and that we found you in our time of need.
